3.3 Information Technology

I once asked my students if they would prefer watching their lessons online and doing homework in class and they quickly exclaimed, "YES!" My students explained to me that if they have the right to decide if they can watch their lessons at their own pace and then use class time to ask questions and work on what they didn't understand, then they would learn much more efficiently. I made this screencast about the Internet Public Library to teach students how to use the IPL as a research tool from where they can access boundless amounts of information about anything they wish to learn about. I chose the Internet Public Library as opposed to a physical library because students are digitally-inclined and can access digital information from trusted sources all from one place without having to leave their seat or home. I share this screencast not only with my students, but with staff and friends as well so that they can use this tool for research and inqiry as well.
