3.1 Efficient and Ethical-Seeking Behavior
As we teach students how to find information, we must remember that we must encourage the use of accurate infomation as well as discriminating against plagiarism and encouraging students to submit their own work. My supervising librarian during my internship at Harlingen South High School, Mrs. Vilia Garcia, encouraged me to continue to learn about information ethics and always include it in my collaborative library lessons. She gave me links to informative websites that I could find lessons and posters on such as commensense.org. She taught me how to make sure that websites are accurate before I use them in a lesson as well as always including copyright informatoin and how to teach that to students, teachers, and faculty. My artifact for this element is an interview that I conducted with Mrs. Garcia on how she teaches information ethics in the library.
