Plan for Standard 1: Teaching & Learning

As a teacher-librarian, I will work collaboratively with teachers and administration to ensure that students learn not only the curriculum standards in each grade level, but support these with information literacy standards. During my first year in a library, I plan to familiarize myself with all standards and teachers and make myself available to all teachers to help them teach by giving them resources and collaborating with them as much as possible. I plan to provide plenty of professional resources such as professional books and annotated bibliographies to teachers. I also plan to be a resource to provide STAAR tutoring when needed and support STAAR learning by being familiar with the curriculum standards and keeping resources that can help foster these standards in the library. I hope to teach information literacy lessons to students in English classes bi-weekly collaboratively with teachers.
